Joanne Cuneo, LMSW

Professional Parenting Coach

Licensed Social Worker

Certified School Social Worker

Joanne Cuneo has more than three decades of experience working with children and their parents. She is a highly skilled and credentialed social worker who deeply understands the dynamics and complexities of the parent-child relationship from birth through the young adult years. A modern-day T. Berry Brazelton, Joanne guides parents through the toddler and early childhood years with a mix of reassurance and gentle guidance in successful parenting practices, which include strategies for ameliorating sibling rivalry, communicating effectively with the willful child, and techniques to address other unexpected temperaments, such as extreme shyness. Additionally, Joanne has years of experience in supporting the needs of children with developmental disabilities, inclusive of early intervention advocacy.
In the middle school and high school years, new issues emerge and children can truly benefit from methodical and strategic parenting approaches. Social anxiety, bullying, academic pressures, and peer pressure loom large. Sexual orientation, dating, and· alcohol and drug exposure/abuse are additional concerns. Parents are frequently stymied about what to say and what not to say to their children during these years. Joanne has those answers.
Joanne offers individual consultations with parents on the phone, in her office, or in the homes of her clients. She also conducts parenting workshops on five distinct topics, which are available through public libraries and community centers. A list of her workshops and an overview of the content for each are available on request. Joanne is married and the mother of 3 children.
